To knit or not to knit

I have decided that I would like to start sharing my knitting life with whomever happens across this blog! So to start at the beginning... I learned in my childhood from my mom the basics in knitting. Fast-forward a number of years and I start to see a great number of people picking up the knitting needles. Also start seeing, or being more aware of, yarn shops. And oh the joys that follow!

For the past two years I have been wanting to actually knit my entire family their Christmas presents. I believe that this year I will actually be achieving this goal! Now don't be to impressed as I do not really have that large of a family and all the projects are rather small ones. I have completed five whole projects and just have three left to do. They are all in various stages of completion or incompletion, however one may view things. One has just some simple bead work to be added to some fringe, another has a border that needs to  be put on while the third, well the third in all honesty has not even gotten to the cast-on stage! However, I do have the yarn for this third project and know exactly what it is that I will be creating! :) Once started it will take just a few days to complete.  As I learn more about blogging and posting I hope to put some pictures up of the projects I am working on and maybe some things already completed. Until then... Happy Knitting!

  1. I see that in addition to a very fine sounding mother you mention that you have a father who picks out yarns when he comes to see you. It seems that he is very supportive. Would he support you perhaps spinning your own yarn?

  2. That depends on if you mean emotionally or financially. But yes indeed he is a rather supportive father.
